Royal College Namugongo was opened on 06/02/2006 in an academically condusive environment in the heart of Uganda.
The brains behind this power institution is Madam Kwagala Salaama and Mr. Robert Mugabe.
The School started with a humble beginning with a team of 14 teachers and only 8 students. By that time signs were visible that it will turn into a powerful academic institution.
As time went on the atmosphere around Royal College Namugongo grew and that’s when the directors opened a sister Primary School Royal Junior School Namugongo in 2011. The Primary section has grown into an academic power house.
The development of the Royal College Namugongo did not stop there and in 2014 a sister school Royal College Namugongo Kibiito Campus was opened in Kibiito, Fort Portal and Happy Valley Technical Institute in Kibiito. This is why the Motto “Determined to Succeed” has been a blessing. In 2016, Royal College Namugongo Mukono Campus was opened, in a conducive environment. All these sister schools are the brain of the Directors, Parents, Staff and well-wishers.
We do not boast of schools only but we have a medical centre Royal Medical Centre that offer Medical services to our students and the nearby community, there is also a school farm that provides food for our learners with Matooke, Cassavva, Eggs, Milk, mention it.

Hello to all, I thank the Almighty for the providence. To everyone from all walks of life we don’t take you for granted. Thanks to all our old boys and girls who have us at heart. We heartily congratulate everyone on this 10th anniversary. As Nelson Mandela put it, that after climbing a great hill, one only finds many more hills are to climb. I thought that after the birth of Royal College Namugongo, I was on top of a great hill in a serene conducive environment. After only 5 years, in 2011, I realized a greater hill of Royal Junior had to be climbed too which came with Royal Medical Centre. Barely 4 years, more hills of the Fort Portal Campus and Mukono Campus which sits on almost 35 – acres have been climbed and honestly I believe I have a greater hill of a tertiary Institution God willing. Why climb all these hills? Hard work never did anyone any harm and this all my students should put first. Hard work is like stairs though luck is a lift, though it at times can’t take you to the top, stairs [hard work] will take you to the top. We have gone all this far because of the loving director who lives by dalai lamas’ saying that our prime purpose in life is to help others.
Secondly, it’s better to give than to Receive. I and my co director have given the best to every student that comes here in form of pieces of advice whether from which part and what makes us proud always is to see them grow. The essential thing is not knowledge but character because at Royal we aim at bringing up a holistic child. To all our well-wishers – know that Royals lives are full of adventure right from term 1 through Sports to the great culture gala and careers which all engage them in finding out what they do best. To all the staff of the Royals let’s work because it spares us from three evils of boredom, vice and need. Where there is no vision, these royals will perish-let’s celebrate the hard work I know success doesn’t come to you…. you go to it.
